Activities
Ardmore has a mountain view swimming pool, a large dam for fishing ( bass), bird watching, or canoeing; we also have a volley ball / badminton area, or explore our surrounding hills on foot or on our mountain bikes. ( Bikes, canoes and fishing rods are available to guests at no extra charge). If you are interested in art there is the craft centre on the farm, and a 2 minute walk away is a ceramic art studio, or explore the arts and craft centres along the Drakensberg Drive.
There are many activities in the valley, golf is popular and the valley boasts 2 golf courses – one 18 hole championship course and the other a 9 hole course. Also available is tennis, trout and bass fishing and for the more daring - white water rafting. Horse riders are spoilt for choice with 5 places to ride, one of them is in Spioenkop Game Park ( only 1/2 hour drive from the farm) where you ride amongst the giraffe, zebra, wildebeest and rhino or alternatively just take a leisurely drive through the game park
Local places of interest include Anglo/Boer war battle field sites such as Spioenkop Battlefield and Winston Churchill's capture and ambush site.; bushman paintings, Drakensberg Boy's Choir, a weaving workshop and a falconry display centre, all just a short drive from Ardmore.
